FRIED CALAMARI

Calamari also popularly known as squids, is one of the most loved seafood cuisines.   

Soft and chewy from the inside, crispy and crunchy from the outside! This calamari recipe is a must-try for all the seafood lovers out there.

Fresh rings of calamari seasoned with the right ingredients and deep-fried to perfection which will give you the ultimate fried calamari and make you savor every moment.

This deep-fried calamari served with tomato sauce and garlic dip is the perfect evening appetizer to all your cravings!

Ingredients

  1. 500 gms squids, thinly sliced rings

  2. 2 cups plain flour

  3. 1/4 cup corn starch

  4. 1/4 cup rice flour

  5. 2 tbsp semolina

  6. 1 tsp baking soda

  7. 2 tbsp paprika

  8. 2 tbsp cayenne pepper

  9. 2 tbsp chili powder

  10. 2 tbsp black pepper

  11. 1 tbsp garlic powder

  12. 1 tbsp onion powder

  13. Salt to taste

  14. 2 tbsp lemon juice

  15. Oil for deep frying

Method

  • Take a large bowl and add all your dry ingredients to it.

  • Season your calamari with salt and lemon juice

  • Add the calamari to the bowl of the seasoned flour mix and coat each piece well.

  • Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours

  • Heat a large skillet with oil (about three inches of depth)

  • Once your oil is heated, carefully add the coated squids and deep fry till golden brown and crunchy.

Your crispy fried calamari is ready!                                                                    Serve with your favorite dip and enjoy this crispy delight.
